Business Success Tip: Optimize Your Website for Google Search

Right now, someone is typing into their Google search bar, asking where to find the product or service that your small business offers.
When they hit the enter button, will they find your website among the top results?
( lf you don’t have a website, well, then that should be on your to do list. We can help you if you are interested in adding a website to your small business. Contact us for more information. )
If yes, then you don’t have to read any more of this article.
If not, then you’re missing out on some business.
So here are some tips to help your small business get noticed by Google:
Identify the keywords that you want your site to rank for in Google.
What keywords would a potential customer be typing into a Google search to find your business?
That’s the question you have to ask yourself when you are looking to get your website ranked higher in Google search.
If you offer party rentals, the keywords, party rentals, jumpers, and catering, should be prominent in your front page.
Once you identify the important keywords, make sure they appear several times in your front page. Don’t over do it, but they need to appear more than once.
Focus on Local Searches
If you have a service that is primarily for customers in your local area, make sure that you include your city’s name in your content. “We provide quality painting services in Lake Elsinore and surrounding cities.”
Make sure your website title has relevant search keywords included.
What is the title of your website? Does it have the keywords that a prospective customer would be typing into a Google Search? Here is what I mean:
Mary’s Dog Grooming Service
Dog Grooming Service in Lake Elsinore
Which of the two website titles will be ranked higher by Google?
Your title should include the keywords that your prospective clients will be typing into Google.
Make sure your website is Mobile Friendly.
The majority of us are doing our internet searching on our mobile devices. Your website should have a responsive design. When people find your site on their mobile device, but have to zoom in to read the information, they won’t stay long, and they’ll keep searching. Having a website that is easy to read on their iPhone, will keep them on your site, which Google likes.
Register with Google My Business.
If you haven’t already done this, you are missing out on a lot of potential business.
When someone types in a search for what your business offers, Google will first show a list of services in a map that will pop up. This map will identify the businesses in their area along with the contact information. Your business needs to be on that list, preferably at the top.
This is just a small list of tips that will help your small business get noticed on Google.
We hope that it has been helpful.
